Korumburra Community
The determined spirit of Korumburra's long-gone pioneers still runs deep, like a rich seam of coal beneath the surface of the surrounding hills. The early inhabitants forged strong communitybonds as a result of the hardshiops and challenges they faced. There remains a real commitment to make it work.
The persistant efforts of the pioneers are reflected through the wide variety of community groups, from indoor bowls to the footfield; from churches to the CWA; from Calisthenics to the Senior Citizens' Club.
Numerous opportunities exist for community service. Volunteers can contribute through such groups as Lions, or Koringal Women's Service club. Arts and crafts figure highly here too, and markets abound, with locally crafted goods.
No one need ever to feel lonely in Korumburra. Take a walk down the main street and you will encounter smiles and G'days. It feels good to live in this community. It's safe; it's embracing; its old-fashioned country style hospitality.
